  1. It turns out we should be concerned! The nice ladies at the house where we stayed in Ayutthaya this weekend told us that not only do these millipedes bite, but they also sometimes lay eggs under the skin of their victims while biting. I guess that means no more millipede playtime?

  2. As far as I can tell, the Thai ladies were confusing millipedes – which these clearly are – and centipedes. Thai centipedes do appear to be terrible and poisonous; millipedes emit a discoloring liquid, but they don’t bite.
